Add 200 Billion Investment Telkom EVDO BTS

Denpasar: PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (Telkom) has allocated a budget of Rp200 billion to invest additional supporting data services Flexi BTS Net Mobile Broadband.

"Large investment is used to infrastructure supporting EVDO technology in each of our base stations throughout Indonesia," said Telkom president director Rinaldi Firmansyah on the sidelines of the launch of the "Flexi Net Mobile Broadband" in Denpasar, on Wednesday.

He explained that currently it planned to have 1100 base stations are already equipped with EVDO technology used to distribute specific data CDMA.

With a target completion in early 2012, so expect all subscribers in the country can enjoy the service was introduced.

"In early October 2011, we have operated 735 EVDO base stations, which consists of 462 units in Jakarta, 123 units in West Java, Medan six base stations, 28 in Pekanbaru, Banjarmasin 33 units, 40 BTS Makassar, Denpasar as much as 13 units and Surabaya 15 BTS.

Rinaldi said, with dilengkapinya technology, has started a new round of mobile broadband services for users throughout the country Flexi internes access at speeds up to 5 Mbps.

"Flexi Service Net Mobile Broadbnd is being introduced in 10 major cities in Indonesia," he said.

A total of 10 cities that introduced it is Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Malang, Yogyakarta, Banjarmasin, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Denpasar and Medan.

Rinaldi explains, the high Internet penetration is growing about 60 percent, accompanied by a high pengaksesnya push it into the business based on these data services.
