8 Members of Police Deaths in 5 Months This

Jakarta - Lately booming attack on the police. At least eight policemen were killed in five months.

"In the year 2011 (five months) alone there were eight policemen who had been shot. Six of them were shot and two crime suspects allegedly committed suicide with a firearm," said Chairman of the Presidium of Indonesia Police Watch (IPW), Neta S Pane, in a statement that pressnya received by AFP on Wednesday (01/06/2011).

Neta said the perpetrators of the action taken against the police showed recklessness. However, police had considered negligent because less vigilant.

"The attitude of the police guard is used by suspected criminals to kill cops and then flee," he added.

IPW is urging police to immediately resolve the cases. It will remind the public confidence in policing.

"If the police are not able to reveal this case, there will be crisis of public confidence in the police," he said.

Aipda Sugiantoro Ranmor Police Unit members Bekasi City died on the spot after a long-barreled guns were fired upon by a group of people. Actors who use a car suspected Avanza will commit robbery.
